Praja Ankita Yatra Telangana phase ends on a sour note

November 6, 2008
Bhadrachalam, Khammam

The Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi's second phase of Praja Ankita Yatra in Telangana districts of Karimnagar, Warangal and Khammam ended on Wednesday with sour note. The members of Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi stopped his convoy demanding that he spell out his stand on classification of SCs. As they did not allow his convey to move, he said that he would study the issue and then make a statement.

It may be recalled that Chiranjeevi began his Praja Ankita Yatra on October 30 at Sircilla in Karimnagar and covered nearly 650 kms traversing through 25 Assembly constituencies. All along the tour, he received good response from the youth and at times his road shows went up to 2am. At every gathering, youth were found in big numbers much to the delight of their hero.

During his yatra, he tried to drive home the point that no one in the State was happy with the present political and administrative systems and promised a change in their lives. He touched several key issues bothering the people like the suicide by farmers and lack of support price for agricultural produce. He mainly focussed on corruption in the State and urged the people to come in support to root out corruption.
