Praja Rajyam Party president rules out any coalition in the State

September 24, 2008
Hyderabad

Merely a day after the party announced its willingness to forge ties with other parties, the Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi ruled out any coalition in the State in the next general elections. He said that the party is not against alliances with other like minded parties but the Praja Rajyam party will not be a part of any coalition.

The statement assumes significance in the wake of the efforts of the CPI State Secretary K Naryana bringing the Praja Rajya, TRS and Left Parties together as an alternative to the Congress and TDP.

PRP President, Chiranjeevi, after releasing a book on Jyothirao Phule authored by K Padma Rao, spoke with the media persons and said that the party was not averse to alliances but it is too early to think about the same at this juncture. He said that the meeting with K Narayana a couple of days ago was aimed at exchanging views on the national and the political situation in the state and did not discuss anything in respect of alliances.
