Supporters of the Praja Rajyam Party have staged rallies and demonstrations in their respective districts as a step towards mounting pressure on the Election Commission who recently denied a common symbol for the party in various elections.

A rally from the Vijayawada party office at Sikhamani centre to the Sub-Collector’s office was held under the leadership of the newly picked party co-convener Boppana Bhava Kumar. PR district co-convenor B. Hariprasad and others led a similar rally in Kadapa district.

Ganta Srinivasa Rao was the leader for the rally in Visakhapatnam. The rally was held from Jagadamba junction to District Collectorate. Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that the Election Commission has to consider the direction given by the High Court and reminded that PRP has a membership base of over 50 lakh members and is sizable enough to sweep the elections.
