Former Union Minister UV Krishnam Raju quits the party

The Praja Rajyam Party on Friday received a jolt with the Tollywood film star and former Union Minister, UV Krishnam Raju tendering his resignation to the party membership today. Speaking to media persons, he said that the party failed to utilize his services properly. He added that neither can the party benefit, nor can he benefited by the party and that is the reason for submitting his resignation to the party.

Meanwhile, general secretary C Uma Malleswara Rao said that the party was yet to receive the resignation letter. The PRP president K Chiranjeevi said that he heard the Krishnam Raju was quitting and he did not know what plans he had. It may be noted that Krishnam Raju joined the Praja Rajyam Party after he was given a ticket. He unsuccessfully contested from Lok Sabha Election from Rajahmundry.

There was speculation in the party that T Devender Goud and E Peddi Reddy who had among others jumped in the party would return to TDP. Meanwhile, some of the party MLAs denied the reports that they are planning to quit. They expressed surprise at such speculation. MLA B Satyanarayana Rao announced formation on Friday of a three member Coordination and Disciplinary Action Committee with P Upendra, C Ramachandraiah and MLA Maheswar Reddy.
