News and Information about Praja Rajyam Party
The plan of having the leaders and party cadre of Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) merge with those of the Congress by way of a function or a program were dashed with the sudden illness of Congress Party President Ms Sonia Gandhi. Though the formalities of the party merger were already over, a function was proposed so as to have an enthusiastic merger.
It was first planned to have formal public meeting but the Congress party denied it citing the uncertain political situation in the state. This was followed by a proposed membership meeting with the top leaders meeting Ms Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi and a similar meeting at Hyderabad and at District offices. However this was dashed following the sudden illness of Sonia Gandhi.
Senior PRP leader C Ramachandraiah said that the enrolment program proposed on August 8 will be postponed to August 20, the birth anniversary of Congress leader Rajiv Gandhi.
