Induction of Ramachandraiah into cabinet gets opposition

June 23, 2011
Hyderabad

A delegation of Congress positions met Chief Minister N Kiran Kuma Reddy stating that they are opposing the likely induction of Praja Rajyam MLA C Ramachandraiah into the cabinet. The opposition came in the light of Praja Rajyam Party Chief Chiranjeevi is strongly considering the induction of Ramachandraiah into the cabinet of the State Government.

Kamalapuram MLA G Veerashiva Reddy, MLCs Shaik Hussain, B Chengalrayudu, former MLAs P Varadarajulu Reddy and K Sivananda Reddy are strongly against the possible inclusion of Ramachandraiah considering that there is already sufficient representation of the Balija community in the cabinet. The reminded that A Saipratap already holds the Union Minister of State portfolio while B Chengalrayudu was re-nominated to the council.

Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy seems to have not given any assurance in this regard but is likely to take the views of the leaders to the Congress high command where the decision is likely to be taken shortly.

It may be recalled that the Praja Rajyam Party announced merger with the Congress Party and the process of the actual merger has already begun. Reports say that PRP supremo Chiranjeevi is likely to get a ministerial berth in the Union cabinet.
