PRP terms the Government decision as anti-people
Hyderabad, January 7, 2010
The Praja Rajyam Party leader C Ramachandraiah termed the bus fare hike as anti public. Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, he demanded the government to roll back the hike as the people was already burdened with unprecedented hike in prices of essential commodities. PRP president K Chiranjeevi would meet the Chief Minister K Rosaiah to express the party's opposition to the hike.
He said that the party would intensify its campaign for a unified Andhra Pradesh with party chief Chiranjeevi visiting Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema districts that had not been covered so far. He said that the party would mobilize support of parties that were opposing the creation of smaller States at the national level.
Meanwhile, the Lok Satta Party said political parties too should share responsibility with the government and the RTC for the increase in fares. Party vice president YD Rama Rao and general secretary K Srinivas Rao said parties which competed with each other in damaging buses and disruption of services were now agitating for roll back of fares.
