PRP Chief Chiranjeevi calls for emergency meeting

As many as 11 MLA's of the 18 member strong PRP has submitted their resignation to the Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker after the Union Government announced it is on a positive note for the statehood of Telangana. Most of the resignations are given to the speaker independently to the speaker.

Upon hearing about the resignation news, PRP chief Chiranjeevi called upon an emergency meeting and said to the members that it is not proper to quit the post in haste and hurry. The MLAs are reported to have said that it is difficult for them to face the people in the wake of the recent developments.

Chiranjeevi is reported to have said to that appealed to the members to withdraw their resignations. He said that the MLA resignations have come in the face in the wake of Congress not taking a clear stand on Telangana.
