Tammineni Seetharam gunman and two others arrested

Charged for carrying cash of Rs. 9.5 lakhs in two vehicles

Eluru, East Godavari, March 27, 2009

On Friday, the police arrested P Rama Rao, a gunman of PRP leader Tammineni Sitaram and two others at Devarapalli in West Godavari district for allegedly carrying cash worth Rs.9.5 lakhs in two vehicles.

According to the SP, B Balakrishna, the currency wads in Rs.500 and Rs.1,000 denominations kept in sweet boxes under the cover of Praja Rajyam flags were found transported in the vehicles allegedly belonging to Tammineni Sitaram from Hyderabad to Srikakulam.

The gunman drafted from the Armed Reserve wing of Srikakulam district reportedly told the police that carrying of cash was part of instructions from Tammineni Sitaram.
